The Londoner Macau, with a façade designed development by Aedas architects, is located on the Cotai Strip in the Cotai reclamation area of Macau, China. Developed by Las Vegas Sands, it has become the third landmark integrated resort in Macau. The entire GRC façade spans about 33,000 square meters and was produced by Style Arts, using 1024 tons Aalborg White cement from Cementir’s Anqing plant. The design draws inspiration from the Palace of Westminster and the British Parliament building, showcasing classic English Gothic architecture with high artistic quality and exquisite craftsmanship.
The consistency and high whiteness of Aalborg White ensure that the façade maintains a uniform terracotta color. Up close, you can appreciate the smooth and intricate texture of the concrete surface. The prototype was created using CNC engraving technology, which allowed for precise architectural modeling. Art experts required that all reliefs and round carvings be vivid and beautiful.
The impressive façade of the Londoner project has been highly recognized by art experts, structural experts, owners, and the public, setting an industry benchmark for reinventing classic architecture. The project received the 2022-2023 Architecture Technology Polaris Award and the 2023 Aalborg White Cup GRC Construction Engineering Innovation Award.
