Yan 'an National Fitness & Sports Center | GRC cladding

The 14th China National Games were held in Yan'an city, Shaanxi Province of China in Sep.2021. Yan'an National Fitness and Sports Center is the venue for international wrestling events. The sports center follows the traditional living style of Loess Plateau residents -- cave dwellings, demonstrating the unique geographical and cultural customs in Northern Shaanxi. Aalborg White cement based GRC claddings were produced by JuJiang Art Concrete, and its yellow rammed earth texture connects the feature of building materials on the Loess Plateau and reflects the long history of cave dwelling architecture.

White cement is the preferred material for architectural concrete due to its purity and stable chemistry characteristics. The rich texture of the mould allows architectural concrete perfectly to demonstrate the local architectural culture. Shaanxi Jujiang Art Concrete, precaster of this project, leveraged the high durability, high strength and unlimited plasticity of the concrete to create the beautiful coat of the Sports Center.
