Zhuhai Jinwan Mall | GRC Facade

JinWan Mall, located in Zhuhai City, Guangdong, is developed by Zhuhai Huafa Group. This commercial real estate brand covers a total area of 180,000 square meters with a total investment of 2 billion RMB. The main architecture, designed by 10 DESIGN and Benoy, has received several prestigious awards, including Property Guru's "Best Commercial Retail Project in Asia-Pacific" and "Best Commercial Retail Project of the Year (China).

From the overall design perspective, the building features smooth and layered forms, with architectural lines inspired by the dynamic flight of seagulls. This design harmonizes with the surrounding waterfront landscape, integrating the building into the aesthetics of daily life.

The façade, resembling traditional Chinese stacked stone walls, wraps around the structure, animated by rhomboid shapes inspired by a fourth-dimensional hypercube. The gradient effect is achieved through a mix of dark and light panels to break up the massing, complemented by lighting features on perforated panels at night.

Style Art was responsible for the detailed façade cladding design and production supply of the GRC panels, using Aalborg white cement for an area of about 15,000 sqm. The façade design incorporates elements and textures of seagull wings, featuring strong lines and smooth curves. The exterior walls present a refined and varied design, showcasing artistic effects such as arcs, waves, and circles, ultimately creating a high-end, fashionable, and elegant atmosphere.

The building’s façade reflects the cultural heritage and innovation of Jinwan’s waterfront, emphasizing elements of "water" and "mountains" to highlight the architecture itself while resonating with the harmonious relationship between people and their environment.
