PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A new extension to Haraldplass Hospital is being opened in Bergen on 23rd October 2018. The project has been designed by C.F. Møller Architects and is characterized by two atria that deliver plenty of daylight and eliminate traditional long corridors.

BB Fiberbeton has delivered a total of 3,000 m2 GRC cladding panels. GRC was chosen as façade material because of its aesthetic qualities, long durability and great resistance to the harsh climate in Bergen, Norway. The color of the GRC was chosen as a light grey which was produced with Aalborg White cement with pigment.

In order to reduce the installation time, and to ensure a simple process with adjustable options, the FA1000® system was chosen. The unique mounting system allows installation from the outside and still having hidden mounting. Furthermore, the FA1000 ® supports high levels of detailing options in connection to windows, corners, sills, etc., making the total GRC solution a preferred option for the architects.

AALBORG WHITE ® IN GRC APPLICATION

FA1000® is used as a building envelope on light facade constructions and is easily adapted to the individual facade project. The FA1000® is easy to install, and with elements adapted to the individual facade using a concealed mounting solution, it gives the facade a calm and harmonious expression.

All of BB fiberbeton ́s GRC products are manufactured with Aalborg White® cement and can be pigmented according to specific project requirements. The very high mechanical performance and durability of GRC produced with Aalborg White® are just some of the reasons behind this cement selection.
